French Polishing & Specialist Wood Finishing for Bespoke Joinery

Stonebridge Fine Finishing specialises in bespoke joinery finishing, French polishing, wood finishing and colour matching for high-quality residential, commercial and architectural projects.

We work with joiners, cabinetmakers, interior designers, architects, contractors and homeowners to create refined, consistent finishes that enhance the timber and complement the wider interior.

Specialist Joinery Finishing Services

We finish both new and existing joinery, including:

• Bespoke staircases, handrails and balustrades

• Internal doors and surrounds

• Wall panelling and architectural woodwork

• Fitted furniture and cabinetry

• Libraries, studies and built-in storage

• Decorative and period joinery

• Commercial and residential interiors

• Restoration of existing timber

Finishes are tailored to the timber, design and requirements of each project.

Bespoke Wood Finishing & Colour Matching

We develop bespoke colours, tones and sheen levels to complement existing interiors and timber.

New joinery can be matched to:

• Floors

• Doors

• Staircases

• Furniture

• Wall panelling

• Cabinetry

• Existing woodwork

• Timber samples

This is particularly valuable when introducing new joinery into period properties or established interiors.

French Polishing

French polishing provides exceptional depth, warmth and clarity and is particularly suited to fine joinery, furniture and traditional interiors.

We French polish staircases, doors, cabinetry, panelling, furniture and architectural woodwork, including original joinery requiring sympathetic restoration.

Staircase, Door & Architectural Finishing

We provide specialist finishing for highly visible timber features including staircases, handrails, balustrades, doors, architraves, panelling, screens and decorative woodwork.

Finishes can be developed to complement flooring, furniture and other timber throughout the property.

Fitted Furniture & Cabinetry

We provide specialist finishing for fitted wardrobes, libraries, studies, media units, bookcases, kitchen cabinetry, built-in storage and bespoke furniture.

Colour, sheen and finish can be tailored to the wider interior scheme.

Joinery Restoration & Repairs

Where practical, existing joinery can be restored rather than replaced.

We repair and refinish scratches, dents, chips, worn surfaces and damaged finishes across staircases, doors, panelling, cabinetry and architectural woodwork.

Our restoration-first approach aims to preserve original timber and character wherever possible.

Finishing New Joinery

We work with your joiner or cabinetmaker from the specification stage through to completion, providing:

• Surface preparation

• Colour development and matching

• French polishing

• Bespoke finishing

• Protective finishing

• Final finishing and refinishing

Early involvement helps establish the timber, colour, sheen and finishing requirements before manufacture or installation.

Working With Joiners, Designers & Contractors

We regularly collaborate with joiners, cabinetmakers, architects, interior designers and contractors.

We work from specifications, samples and existing finishes to ensure the completed joinery integrates seamlessly with the wider project.

Period & Contemporary Interiors

Our finishing services are suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

For period properties, we restore original joinery and develop finishes that sit naturally alongside existing features. For contemporary interiors, bespoke finishes enhance the warmth, texture and architectural character of new timber.
