Pool Table Repair | RH11
Specialist Repairs For Your Furniture
Project Overview
Stonebridge Fine Finishing was recently asked to repair a split and damaged wooden area on a pool table in RH11. The timber had developed a visible split, affecting both the appearance of the table and the overall finish of this much-loved piece of furniture.
Rather than replacing the affected section or compromising the original character of the pool table, we carried out a careful, localised repair designed to restore the damaged timber while keeping the repair as discreet as possible.
The Project
The pool table had a noticeable split in the wooden surface, creating an obvious imperfection in an otherwise well-presented piece.
Repairing timber on a pool table requires a careful approach. The repair needs to be structurally sound while also matching the existing wood as closely as possible. The surrounding timber may have developed its own colour, tone and finish over time, making a simple fill or touch-up insufficient.
Our work focused on repairing the split area and then carefully refinishing the surrounding section so the repair integrated naturally with the original pool table.
Repairing the Split Timber
We first assessed the damaged area to establish the extent of the split and determine the most suitable repair method.
The affected timber was carefully prepared, ensuring that loose or compromised material was dealt with before the repair was carried out. The damaged section was then repaired with particular attention to maintaining the shape and character of the original wood.
Once the repair had been completed, the area was carefully prepared for the finishing stage.
The objective was not simply to fill the split, but to create a clean, durable and visually sympathetic repair.
Colour Matching the Existing Finish
One of the most important parts of this pool table repair was matching the appearance of the existing timber.
Wood naturally varies in colour, grain and tone. On an older or well-used pool table, the original finish may also have changed subtly over time through exposure to light, handling and general use.
Stonebridge Fine Finishing carefully worked with the existing colour and finish to help the repaired section blend with the surrounding timber.
This involved detailed finishing work rather than simply applying a standard stain or coating.
Finishing the Repaired Area
Once the timber repair was complete, the area was given the appropriate fine finishing treatment.
The surrounding surface was treated carefully to create a smooth transition between the repaired section and the original finish. Particular attention was paid to the colour, sheen and overall appearance of the timber.
The result was a significantly improved appearance, with the original split no longer dominating the look of the pool table.
Specialist Furniture & Timber Repairs
This project demonstrates how localised timber damage does not necessarily mean an item needs to be replaced.

Pool Table Repairs in RH11
This project was completed in the RH11 postcode area, where Stonebridge Fine Finishing was called upon to restore a damaged wooden section of a pool table.
If your pool table has developed a split, crack, chip, scratch or other area of timber damage, professional repair may be possible without replacing the entire component.
A specialist assessment can establish whether the existing timber can be repaired and refinished to complement the rest of the table.
Restoring Your Pool Table
A pool table can be an important feature within a home, games room or commercial property, so visible timber damage can be particularly frustrating.
Our approach is to repair the affected area as carefully as possible while respecting the original materials, colour and character of the piece.
For this RH11 pool table, the damaged wooden split was repaired and the surrounding area carefully finished to produce a more cohesive and refined appearance.
