Stonebridge Fine Finishing was commissioned to restore and refinish a table for a client in W8, with the aim of giving the piece a completely refreshed appearance while ensuring it complemented the existing furniture and finishes throughout their home.

The client wanted the table to work harmoniously with the other items in the room, so rather than simply restoring it to its original colour, we changed the colour of the table to create a bespoke match with the client's existing furniture.

Alongside the colour transformation, the table needed a durable new finish that could withstand regular everyday use as well as entertaining and dinner parties.

The Brief

The table was in need of a complete refresh. The existing colour and finish no longer worked with the surrounding furniture, and the surface needed to be prepared for a new, more hard-wearing finish.

Stripping the Existing Finish

The first stage was to carefully strip the existing finish from the table.

Removing the previous coating allowed us to work with the timber beneath and provided a clean surface for the new colour and lacquer system.
